Modern, clean and comfortable.
Check in was very quick and easy, the member of staff introduced herself to us and shook our hands. Very welcoming indeed we thought. There is hot soup at reception bubbling away for you to taste which is a nice touch. The room we booked was a medium. It was clean, fairly spacious and very minimalistic which I personally prefer. Funky stencilled pictures adorn the walls throughout the room and hotel and the whole place is pretty well kempt. There were however one or 2 dirty marks on the wall in our room, but that can be overlooked. Housekeeping never replaced our dirty glasses and never removed some used packaging in our room that we had returned with, which was a little disappointing as it sat there for a day and a half. No mini bar in the room, and no tea making facilities. Shower hot, powerful and very refreshing. The location of the hotel is very good. It is situated very close to the airport drop off and is a nice 5-10 minute stroll to the old town over the bridge, past many ...
Fun, friendly hotel
Very warm, inviting, friendly staff and decor. Free soup in lobby plus open space to work, talk, play games. Room was very clean, size was acceptable for Europe (but no closet). Location is great -- 1 block from train station, allowing easy access to MECC for conferences, 5 minute walk to river, 10 minutes to main sites of Maastricht.
A homely stay @ Townhouse Design Hotel Maastricht
We really enjoyed our stay at the Townhouse hotel; very friendly staff, nice welcome with a free cup of mustard soup, nice room with a very large bathroom with comfy bath and a very comfy bed. Small points of critique: - No extra pillows and pillow provided was a bit lumpy - Breakfast is good, but for 15 euros one expects fresh orange juice instead of juice from a box. But other than that, everything was more than a-ok! We would recommend this hotel to everyone! Next time in Maastricht, we would definitely consider booking at the Townhouse Design Hotel again.
Comfortable and style stay
It's close to the train station, but not enough to hear the noise of it. Helpful and really friendly staff, nice lobby (comfortable and interesting decoration). The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom also very good. Wifi works well in the room, and is free, no matter how many devices you have. I had some problems with the heater, but overall it's a great place to stay.
I recently stayed at The Townhouse whilst in Maastricht. It is literally right beside the train station and a five minute walk to the centre of town. The staff in the hotel couldn't be nicer, and said hello and goodbye every time we left the hotel. We offered homemade soup on arrival at the hotel and the manager came and shook our hands and welcomed us. The decor of the hotel is modern but homely, which I loved and the rooms are massive. We had a great balcony and the bath was a massive plus. The room was tastefully decorated and it was hard leaving it at times. THE BED...is HUGE, I had to jump up to get on but it was so comfy and spacious. The tv had lots of channels and each room has little grafitti on the walls. The hotel is so well priced as well, and we couldn't believe it was actually cheaper staying here for four nights than staying in London in a hostel last week for three nights! The area is really quite and Maastricht felt like the safest city I've ever stayed in. I will d...
I would love to come back again!
Arriving at the train station, I was first looking for a taxi to get to this hotel. Luckily, I asked a friendly elderly who politely pointed the hotel at me, right from the train station (which is about a good 100-150 meters away). The hotel receptionist was very pleasant in welcoming guests (me included), which made the long travel (coming all the way from Shanghai) all the better. The hotel and the room had bright feelings all over --- creativity in design cannot be denied, as there are drawings of ants adoring the walls, an old-style radio in the bathroom, and books on shelves that are free to be read. This is a good spot, even if it is not at the city center, as the city center is just about 15 minutes away by foot. I saw later on tourists walking back to the train station all the way from the city center and can't help but be happy with my hotel choice. Breakfast is included in the rate, although there is no accessible wi-fi in the room. It would have been perfect too had th...
really pleasant stay in Townhouse Hotel
The hotel is a stone's throw away from the railway station and within a 10-15 minute walk from the very heart of the city - very convenient location. The staff is really friendly and welcoming, the lobby is cosy, the room (I had booked a double room single use) was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good and one can enjoy it until noon on weekends! A drawback in my room (422) was the lighting - I found it a bit poor, especially if one wants to work at the desk or read. There is a baggage storage room where I left my bag both before the check-in and after the check-out, however I remained a bit skeptical about the security because those are guests themselves and not the hotel staff that go to the room to leave and pick up the bags.
